Mt. Macedon, Camels Hump. Dare only to venture out here on a warm day, this place will freeze your finger tips clean off on a cold day. Ideal for a summer day trip, only about an hour out of Melbourne, with sport and trad climbing and a super easy walk in to boot!
Maddy Melder on Boogie 'til You Puke. (where do they come up with these names?)
See... it's not all about boys and their big muscles.
Brendon and Chris Abernethy, Horsham born and bred (though left for the 'big smoke' of Melbourne) have enjoyed the spoils of both Arapiles and the Grampians for many a year. You can take a boy away from the rock but you can't take the rock out of the boy!
Brendon (above) and Chris Abernethy bouldering in the 'Shire'.
Before the 2006 firestorm that engulfed much of the surrounding area of Halls Gap - including Mt. Bundaleer, the cliffs of this area proved to be a welcome reprieve from the summer scorching heat. Given the cliffs are mostly in shade it was a cool(er) place to climb than most other Grampians areas. The area has since been re-opened and re-bolted.
Tim Le climbing through the more spectacular moves of Manic Depressive.
Manic Depressive is possibly one of the most attempted (and climbed) routes in the area, providing a warm up to some of the more serious climbs further along the cliffs.
Werribee Gorge... do you even remember that place? aaaah... the perpetual day tripper back in the day... Loading up with a pack of gear to climb on what was effectively (or affectionately known as) the 'Crumbly Weet-Bix'... of course from what I can gather it's much better these days, sorta takes the fun out of it now though. ;)
In order to get things started, in no particular order, as it will most likely remain, time to kick off... extreme black, the blood, the sweat, and the tears. enjoy!
Photography is an art form so many take for granted, everyone has a camera on their phone these days so what makes 'me' special?
